On immigration's website, 75% and 90% of all visa applications are processed for example. Such a ratio represents the majority of applicants and is more reasonable.
The two ratios vary in trial time (see chart below), but for most visas, they are at most several times shorter. But there is a visa that is more than 20 times different, it is RRV! What is leading to such a big gap? Follow Xiao Xin to see ~
RRV trial time
RRV is a resident round trip visa that allows the holder to reside indefinitely in Australia as an Australian PR. RRV includes 155 visas and 157 visas. As 157 visa applications are limited, we mainly take 155 as an example.
According to the latest 155 visa processing time published on the official website:
- 75 per cent of applications take three days;
- 90% of applications take 68 days!
Some friends should be confused, clearly is a visa category, how can there be such a big difference? This is because the applicant's background is very different!
If the applicant has lived in Australia for 2 years in the past 5 years, he will be granted a RRV visa valid for 5 years, and in this case, the trial time will only take 3 working days! 80% of the RRV applicants belong to the lucky ones!
The remaining 20%, however, are less fortunate because they do not meet the housing requirements (two years in five years) and require additional material that has substantial links to Australia, including business, culture, work or personal connections. The number of materials that need to be reviewed is increased, and the trial time will naturally be lengthened. In this case, the trial lasted up to 68 days!
If the immigration office asks the applicant to make up the materials, it will take more time to go back and forth. Some visa applications can take up to 6 months!
How can we prove that we have a substantial relationship with Australia?
If an applicant has not been able to stay in Australia for more than two years in the past five years, if he can prove that he has a substantial interest in Australia in terms of business, culture, work or personal interests, he can also obtain an RRV visa. Let's talk one by one.
Business: the applicant plays an active and important role in the Australian company, has substantial all interests, and needs to be the company's senior management, personally involved in the day-to-day operation and management of the company. The company must be a normal business and profitable business company. Available materials include company reports supporting positions and authority, details of company transactions, partnership / joint venture agreements, contracts signed by applicants, business / personal files, etc.
Culture: the applicant's intellectual, artistic, sports or religious activities are beneficial to Australian cultural life. Available materials include publications published by the applicant, contracts, certificates from the members of the Cultural Association, newspaper articles about the applicant, the applicant's cultural and artistic performances program, etc.
Job: the applicant has an employment relationship with Australia, such as being employed or having an job offer. Available materials include job contracts, employee certificates, etc.
Personally: the applicant is or has been a participating member of the Australian community and economic, has lived with his spouse (citizen, Australia) in or outside Australia for a period of time, and his family has resided in Australia, etc.
However, it is becoming more and more difficult to prove substantial ties with Australia. Because the shorter the time in Australia, the harder it is to prove that its ties with Australia are "substantial". So in reviewing these materials, the visa officer also needs more time and energy.
Will the trial speed up?
In fact, for RRV applications which do not meet the living conditions, there is no direct way to speed up their hearing, and it seems unlikely that the trial time will be improved in a short period of time. But there are some indirect ways to take it.
For applicants who do not meet their living conditions, the best way to speed up the hearing is to allow the hearing to start early, preferably submit an RRV application at least four months prior to the expiration of the visa and prepare the materials so that the visa officer can be kept full of time. That is, there is no need to adjust the itinerary because of visa issues, and also because of the long trial time and so on, is not the best of both!
If you apply for RRV, at home, you can also apply for BVA, and then transfer to BVB by BVA, so that even if the RRV trial takes a long time, the applicant will still be able to travel to and from Australia without affecting the trip.

Although the length of the RRV trial varies from three days to 68 days, if you can submit a visa in advance, try to prepare the full range of materials and information, I believe that more or less will narrow the gap.
