Australia shouts Chinese tourists: come to Tasmania and invest your blood in improving tourist facilities in the next three years

Australian travel, which has been favored by tourists from all over the world, has been voted the best place to travel by major travel magazines as early as the 1990s. In 2017, the Australian Bureau of Statistics released a set of data: in 40 years, the number of Chinese tourists hosted by Australia jumped 2600 times, replacing New Zealand as Australia's largest source of tourists. With 1.33 million visitors and 50.1 billion yuan of consumption, ranked in the double champion.

Compared with Australia's popular destinations such as Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Gold Coast, Australia's government enjoys the tourism dividends brought by Chinese tourists, but it is also criticized by the domestic public. Unenthusiastic native Australians, faced with an influx of tourists, said they could not be bothered by them, and even called the police when tourists were too noisy in public places.

To achieve a win-win that can make money without affecting its own people, Australia's government has decided to make the only overseas state a tourist destination, the "natural state" known as the most perfectly preserved state on earth: Tasmania. Tasmanian is Australia's smallest state, the main island area of just 64,000 square kilometers, the current resident population of about five hundred and twenty thousand.

Tasmania was first discovered by Dutch explorers. At that time, there were about nine primitive tribes living on the island. After landing in 1790, the British fought with the Dutchman for more than ten years, and finally listed it as one of the colonies. Since the island is mostly mountainous cliffs and is not suitable for farming or large-scale livestock, it is simply regarded as an exclusive island for prisoners in exile in order to compete with indigenous tribes for control of the land of Tasmania, About two thousand three tribal groups were slaughtered by the British colonists.

After 1803, 65,000 prisoners were sent to the island of Tasmania to be held in a simple cell, and the islands without a farming and pastoral foundation immediately plunged a large number of prisoners into a state of severe food shortages. Even the seaweed on the shoreline was scraped clean. As a result, the colonists allowed prisoners to make makeshift fishing boats to kill whales, and countless prisoners were buried in the sea. When the British decided to emigrate to Australia in 1830, prisoners were sent to reclaim wasteland or pardon as new immigrants, according to the Tasmanian Museum. At that time, less than 25,000 people left the island alive.

After Australia formed a federation, a fire in Tasmania spread to half of the islands, raising the government's concerns, eventually placing Tasmania under federal state autonomy, followed by immigrants who came to settle on the island. Located in the Bath Strait's westerly belt, Tasmania's perennial climate is also mild, known as "the best temperate island in the world". Its natural resources are extremely rich and its vegetation coverage is higher than the rest of Australia. The world's first truffle farm was born on the Riverside of Tasmania.

In an effort to retain more Chinese tourists, Tasmania government decided to spend A $10-2 billion over the next three years on four islands, Flinders, Macquarie, Bruni and King, which are expected to be open in 2018. So not only did Australia's government shout that Chinese tourists would wait a year, but the Tasmania Tourism Board also said "wait a year, a year is enough."

It is said that an airport will be built in the future and direct flights to mainland China will be opened. It seems that Australia's government has lost its money.
