Melbourne has won six consecutive titles in the world's livable cities by the end of last year, so which suburbs are the best in this most livable city? The Australian Times published the list, revealing the secret.
On the list, the most common Chinese settlements, Box Hill ranked 41st, Blackburn ranked 47th (top 15%), Doncaster 139th, Balwyn 73, Kew 34th, Glen Waverley 130th, Mitcham 105, Burwood 80th, Ringwood 185.
In addition, there are several familiar suburbs:
Carlton ranking 15th
Hawthorn ranking 18th
University of Melbourne Parkville ranked 10th
Famous coastal St Kilda ranking 35th
So where is the first place?
East Melbourne finished second in 2011 and 2005 in Melbourne's most livable suburbs, topping the list in 2015.
Located southeast of Melbourne's CBD, this quiet suburb is among the top 15 in all aspects of multicultural, coffee shop and specialty restaurant paradise. East Melbourne, with the exception of electronic communications coverage and terrain diversity.
Second and third places were won by South Yarra, close to the city and Yala rivers, and the most expensive Toorak, respectively.
