The long-awaited new parents visa will finally be opened!
Yesterday, both the Federal Senate and the House of Representatives passed the Immigration Amendment (Family violence and other measures) Act 2016 and the amendments to the government, the long-awaited guarantee visa for new parents who will finally be opened in the first half of 2019!
New parents guarantee visa details
New parents have a quota of 15000 per year for guarantee visas, with two options for three-year and five-year visas. Three-year visas cost 5000 Australian dollars and five-year visas cost 10, 000 Australian dollars.
After the expiration of the visa, a five-year visa can be renewed, or 10,000 Australian dollars, or 20,000 Australian dollars, to obtain a 10-year stay visa for parents, but can not be extended to permanent residence visa in China.
The requirements of the visa for the guarantee are as follows: for the guarantee:
- It is the applicant's own child, adopted child or stepchild;
- Provide valid identification;
- Australian citizen, PR or qualified New Zealand citizen;
- 18 years of age and over;
- Stay in Australia for at least four years, two years more than the current parental immigration visa requirements;

New guarantee Framework
The new bill passed by the federal parliament was introduced in 2016.
