According to the latest Australian report on tattoos, women outnumber men in tattoos.

According to the Daily Mail, the number of tattoos in Australia has reached an all-time high, with at least one in five Australian residents having at least one tattoo, according to the McClindall Institute's (McCrindle Research) survey.

Australian women have 2% more tattoos than men. 21% of women have tattoos, compared with 19% of men.

McClindell Institute spokesman Phil (Ashley Fell) said Queensland residents had the highest percentage of tattoos, at 26 percent. New and Victorian states followed suit.

Queensland residents have a high percentage of tattoos and are more likely to display tattooed designs because of the warm climate and beach culture, Phil said.

Tattooing has become a permanent means of commemorating important events, such as marriage, first salary and baptism, which were not available to previous generations.

The tattooed antisocial stigma has also dissipated, becoming "normal".

More than half of the first-time tattooed residents were between 18 and 25 years old, and 36 percent were 26 years old and older.

In addition, 1 / 3 people regret tattooing behavior, nearly 10% consider removing tattoos in the past.
