Brief introduction of OET for Medical staff in English examination

The purpose of the OET Workplace English Test is to assess the English proficiency of health professionals who want to study abroad, emigrate to Australia or work in Australia. The test, the highest authoritative test to assess the English proficiency of health care workers, is approved by 13 authorities, including the (AMC), Australian nurse Association of the Australian Medical Council. For Chinese doctors who want to register, work and emigrate to Australia, taking the OET exam is the first and necessary part of going to Australia.


OET mainly assesses candidates' reading, listening, writing and oral skills. The score is valid for 2 years. According to the requirements of the Australian Medical Association, in order to apply for nurse qualification, listening, speaking, reading and writing must be above B. When applying for a relevant visa category, OET scores are also included in the English level score.


The requirements for applying for OET preparatory courses are generally as follows: IELTS 6.0 or more English, or Upper-Intermediate/Advanced level. For students who have not yet reached the above English level, it is recommended that they enter EHP (English for Health Professionals Course), and transfer to OET class. after meeting the requirements for admission to the OET preparatory course.
