A Queensland train driver worked 918 hours a year, earning more than A $ two hundred and ten thousand a year.
Last fiscal year, Queensland (Citytrain), the highest-paid driver of the intercity train, recorded a record annual income of A $210316, including A $76000 in overtime, according to the Messenger Post.
By contrast, Queensland intercity train drivers earned a maximum annual income of A $193500 in fiscal year 2016 / 17. The driver worked 952 hours, equivalent to 19 hours a week.
Queensland government figures released last night showed that the top five Queensland drivers by revenue from intercity trains paid A $179700 to A $210316 in the fiscal year 2017-18.
Overall, in the last fiscal year, Queensland's top five drivers by revenue had less overtime. However, thanks to a 3 percent pay rise and a special award from the Commonwealth Games (Commonwealth Games), their annual earnings outperformed the previous year's biggest winners.
