Australia releases tourism data, the largest increase in the number of Chinese tourists

According to the latest data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), Australia continues to receive high praise among tourists from countries such as China and Malaysia, and the number of visitors to Australia is also growing, among which, China remains the largest source of tourists.



In August 2017, the number of short-term visitors to Australia reached seven hundred and fifty five thousand nine hundred and ninety nine, up 0.8 percent from the previous month and 7.9 percent higher than in August 2016, according to the latest (ABS) data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Among them, China is still the largest source of growth in the number of tourists.

Experts predict that Australia will continue to be a popular destination for Chinese tourists, with annual visits to Australia rising to 3.3 million by 2026. But they also say Chinese tourists are likely to look for other destinations.

Chinese tourists travel more and more as China gets richer and most Chinese citizens travel more easily, the report said. At the same time, more and more Chinese students are studying in Australia or other parts of the world.

In addition, satisfying the travel of Chinese tourists has also become the choice of many airlines. For example, the number of Chinese airlines flying to Australia has increased from four in 2014 to seven today. China currently has an annual seating capacity of 1.5 million, up 76% since 2013.

According to data, Australia is ranked eighth in the minds of Chinese tourists, behind Thailand, Japan, South Korea, the United States, Indonesia, Maldives and Singapore, after Thailand, Japan, South Korea, the United States, Indonesia, Maldives and Singapore.
