Sydney's 17-year-old even stabbed a man because of this trifle.

A teenage boy in Sydney has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing a 31-year-old man at his home.

At 11:30 on Sunday night, Mitchell Street, police and paramedics in Geleber were called to the police and rushed to a house where a man was found stabbed after an argument.

When the police arrived, they found the injured man at home, with multiple stabbing wounds to his chest and abdomen.

The 17-year-old boy was found by police near Leichhardt and arrested on suspicion of stabbing.

The police said the two men knew each other. But the boy has not been charged with stabbing the man.

The victim was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment and is still in critical condition but in stable condition.

The Leichardt police have set up a crime scene.

After the crime, the police have begun to investigate the incident.
