Melbourne has fallen in the global ranking of livable cities, the Herald Sun reported.

It is reported that Mercer (Mercer), a consultancy, assesses the livable nature of cities around the world based on a number of factors, including entertainment, housing, public services, transportation, the, economic, political and social environment, and education, and so on. The results of the 2019 Mercer quality of Life Survey (2019 Mercer Quality of Living Survey) were obtained.

Among them, Australia's best city is Sydney, ranked 11th. Melbourne fell 1 place to 17. 5%. Perth was ranked 21st.

Vienna, Austria's capital, topped the ranks of Mercer in its 10th year. It was followed by Zurich, Switzerland. Number three was Vancouver, Canada. The fourth and fifth places are Auckland, New Zealand, and Munich, Germany.

Costa (Karla Costa), head of global circulation for Mercer's Pacific region, said that while security, climate, health care and high-quality real estate were Australia's strengths, congestion and convenience of international flights held back.

Last year, Melbourne was replaced by Vienna after losing the top spot in economic's Think Tank (The Economist Intelligence Unit) ranking of global livable cities.
