Thunderstorms hit parts of Sydney last night. On the central coast of Blue Mountain (Blue Mountains), (Central Coast) and the northern and western suburbs of Sydney, huge storm clusters bring hail and storm weather.

At 06:15, just half an hour of rainfall reached 35 mm, causing flash floods to erupt at several locations along the Great West Highway, (The Great Western Highway).

Sims (Garry Sims), a police officer in the (Hawkesbury) district of Hoxbury, said motorists had to watch out for slippery roads during heavy rains and wet weather.

"you never know how deep the floods are, and you don't deserve to risk going through them." Police officer Sims said.

If there is heavy rain ahead, or if the road is flooded, pull over in a safe place and wait for the flood to recede or change the route to your destination.

A spokesman for Sydney Airport said flights to both international and domestic terminals were delayed by up to 50 minutes on Wednesday night. The service returned to normal this morning.
