News.com.au: A pregnant woman died of snake venom.

ABC news: was bitten by a snake after she was pregnant, which could lead to death!

Here's the thing:

Sinita Martin is a 27-year-old young mother with a 3-year-old child. Now she's going to have another baby! It was not until recently that she found out that she was 31 weeks pregnant.

Her family lives in the remote town of (Meekatharra)., about 775km northwest of Perth.

That night, after eating, she was alone in her yard, but soon her family saw her run into the house panicked.

Only to listen to Ms Martin, she felt very uncomfortable, just in the hospital did not notice, was bitten by a snake!

And it wasn't long before, Ms Martin started twitching!

Her family was terrified to see her like this! Oh, my God! This reaction, must have been bitten by the venomous snake no doubt!

At about 8 p. M., Ms Martin's family quickly called and contacted the ambulance to explain the situation. She was soon taken to the hospital, but it was futile for the doctor and nurse to do their best to save her life.

Not long after being sent to the hospital, Ms Martin stopped several times. Although she tried to do a heart resuscitation, she died in the end!

Together with the fetus in the abdomen, one corpse and two lives!

At present, it is not known which snake bites the specific Ms Martin killed.

However, Dr. Bryan Fry, an associate professor at the University of Queensland's School of Bioscience, said the young mother should be a brown snake in terms of the symptoms of her bite and the speed of her death.

Brown snakes are the only snakes in Australia that often kill people in an hour!

But only 35 people died from brown snake venom from 2000 to 2016. That is to say, do a good job of prevention and bite after the first aid, or a great chance to save their lives!

The secret of life-saving after being bitten by a brown snake!

1. After being bitten by brown snake must not panic, run, mental tension will accelerate blood flow rate, let snake venom spread in the body faster!

2. After being bitten by brown snake, use bandage and so on to fasten the wound above immediately! Lower the blood flow! Be sure to tie the knot, because every 15 to 20 minutes, untie the bandage and relax for one or two minutes to prevent tissue necrosis due to blood loss.

3. Keep bites lower than heart, if shock occurs, lie flat as far as possible, step too high, and keep warm.

4. The first time a brown snake bites, a first-aid call is made. While waiting for rescue, do above a few more points.

However, the situation of this young mother is different from that of ordinary people!

Dr Scott White, a consultant and spokesman for obstetrics at the Royal Australian Academy of Obstetrics and Obstetrics, said snake bites are more dangerous for pregnant women and fetuses than for non-pregnant women.

According to available data, about 4% of women bitten by venomous snakes during pregnancy die!

That's about twice as much as being bitten by a snake before you get pregnant!

It turned out that the mother died so quickly, even the first aid has not been saved, is because she is pregnant!

Because, many pregnant women during pregnancy blood pressure is lower, and this just reduces their own toxicity to snake venom tolerance! And heart pressure increases during pregnancy, which also limits the ability to deal with snake venom!

Dr. Timothy Jackson, a toxicologist and researcher at the Australian Venom Research Group, said that after being bitten by a venomous snake, venom can lower blood pressure even further, while pregnant women already have low blood pressure. Low blood pressure accelerated death.

Usually bitten by brown snake, the treatment time between half an hour to one hour, and for pregnant women's life-saving time greatly reduced by half! Half an hour at the most, it could kill you!

So, for all those bitten by snakes, time is the cost of life!

If it is unfortunate to be bitten by a snake, you must give first aid at the first time, and do not bury yourself because of your heart for a while!
