Sydney remains Australia's highest-priced city, with eight of the 10 most expensive cities in Sydney, according to realestate.com.au.
At the top of the list, Darling Point is Australia's most expensive urban area, with a median home price of A $6.8 million, followed by a median price of A $4.17 million for the Vaucluse, and A $4.1 million for the Cremorne Point,.
According to realestate.com.au data for the 12-month period ending Dec. 5, 2016, median home prices in Australia's 10 most expensive urban areas range from A $6.8 million to A $3.2 million. The city will have to sell at least 10 homes in 12 months, which means areas like Point Piper, where prices are frightening but rarely sold, are not on the list.
REA Group Chief Economist Nerida Conisbee said prices in these high-end urban areas have fallen in recent months, although, Darling Point is still the highest in the city, but the median price has fallen to A $6.81 million from A $7.4 million earlier this year. So high-end urban housing prices did not grow strongly this year.
So where are the top 10 most expensive cities in Australia? What are they so attractive about, and how much are they going to get?
1. Darling Point (New L ä nder)-A $6.8125 million
Darling Point is only 4 kilometers away from Sydney's CBD and has always been an option for mature residents. While residents earn an average A $2511 a week, more than 80 percent live in apartments rather than independent homes, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

2. Vaucluse (New L ä nder)-A $four million one hundred and seventy five thousand
Located on the South Head Peninsula, Vaucluse has excellent city views and is close to the beach at Sydney Port National Park.

3. Cremorne Point (New State) $44.1 million
Cremorne Point is located at the seaport, just six kilometers from Sydney's CBD, where most of the properties are apartments, not stand-alone homes. The residents here are mainly mature families and elderly couples.
The property here is rarely sold.
4. Bellevue Hill (New L ä nder)-A $four million thirty five thousand
The green-masked Bellevue Hill, with its many parks and idle lifestyles, has long been the ideal place to live for a wealthy family in Sydney. Most of the houses are single-door, some distance from the streets, building styles from the 1920s villas to Hamptons-style modern luxury homes.

5. Dawes Point (New L ä nder)-A $3.9 million

Tamarama is located on the beach, just seven kilometers from Sydney's CBD, where many people like to sunbathe. It is also in the middle of Bondi-Bronte Beach Boulevard, a leisurely lifestyle that attracts many buyers.
