Is Australia 'out of favor'? the most popular destination for Chinese tourists in 2018 is here.

Australia has been one of the favorite destinations for Chinese tourists in recent years. Australia's tourism, hotel management and other related industries have also made a lot of money.

But according to the latest Travelzoo Travel Trends Survey, Australia will be overtaken by Africa!

According to the survey, more than 60 percent of Chinese respondents said they planned to take a deep tour in 2018, the kind of way to avoid conventional travel routes and explore ways to experience local culture and social traditions.

For the first time in history, Africa topped the list of Chinese tourists, beating traditionally popular Australia and Japan.

For the African region, Chinese tourists are more interested in Morocco, Tunisia, South Africa, Namibia, Madagascar and Tanzania.

Travelzoo marketing experts say the surge in Chinese tourists' enthusiasm for these places is largely due to the easing of visa policies.

In June 2016, Morocco was free of visa to China citizen, in February 2017, Tunisia was visa-free to China, and Tanzania and Egypt were visa-on-arrival.

As soon as the visa easing policy was announced, Morocco ' s click-through rate increased by 20%. In the following six months, Chinese tourists visiting Morocco increased by 378% year-on-year, and Tunisia's growth rate was 240%.

The survey also showed that the number of Travelzoo members in China who plan to spend more than five vacations abroad in 2018 increased by 25 percent. Many people are beginning to choose places where fewer people are going, and have gradually accumulated rich local experience. This has an impact on their friends and family when choosing a destination.

In addition, cruise and photography tours are becoming more popular among travel modes and categories, while traditional shopping and sightseeing tours are less popular than they used to be.

Chinese tourists, especially the middle class, tend to enjoy unforgettable travel experiences at their own pace, and places with a long culture and unique scenery will attract their attention.

Australia has never lacked beautiful natural scenery and a unique human experience, and the vast expanse of land offers possibilities for in-depth tours. For Chinese tourists with better economic conditions, time, distance and money are not a problem.

If Australia offers more concessions and convenience to China, the number of visitors to Australia will naturally continue to increase.
