Go abroad n times, these passports cold knowledge, do you know?

Today, going abroad is nothing new, so it is common to have a passport. But do you know anything about passports every day?

What if you lose your passport abroad? What kind of passport is invalid? Under what circumstances will it be impossible to leave the country?

Let's take a look at eight cold knowledge about passports!

01, what's the use of the passport note page?

The note page is for the issuing authority (or embassy and consulate), inspection authorities and other relevant information. For example, when a new passport needs to be replaced at the expiration of the passport, a lost passport needs to be replaced, and the holder's name is changed, immigration agencies, embassies and consulates will add the relevant notes to the notes page of the passport.

Note: in principle, a visa cannot be affixed on the Notes page. However, there is also a chance of accidents.

For example, border control meetings occasionally cover the entry and exit chapter on the notes page. Visa officials may also hurriedly affix the visa to a note page. In both cases, don't panic. In fact, visas and passports can be used normally.

02, how do you calculate the blank page of your passport?

When applying for visas to other countries, travellers may encounter the requirement that passports must have X blank pages.

Generally speaking, "one blank page" means that a single visa page cannot have any trace of immigration stamp, sticker, bookpin on a single visa page for embassies and consulates, "one blank page" means no trace of entry and exit stamps, stickers or staples.

And "two consecutive blank pages" means that the two blank visa pages on the passport that meet the above requirements must be consecutive, and so on!

03, passport valid for less than 6 months, can you leave the country?

Even if you have a visa, it doesn't mean you can enter the country! Since each country has different requirements for the duration of the passport at the time of entry inspection, it is generally more than six months and more than three months.

Travelers must first confirm the entry requirements of their destination, or they are likely to be refused upon check-in. Even if the check-in is successful, travelers may still be denied entry to their destination through the Chinese border inspection. So it's very important to confirm the validity of your passport! If the validity period is insufficient, just in time to issue a new passport to travel.

There is no blank page. Can you go to the visa-free / visa-on-arrival country?

If you start from another country, the border check may check the blank pages of the passport before the traveler leaves the country. Even if the destination is a visa-free country, the border check at the departure point is likely to require at least one blank page on the passport since the passport is still stamped at the time of entry and exit, and travellers who do not meet the requirements are likely to be denied exit.

05, what are the pages of the passport, and what is the use of them?

Passport page 2 is the information page, covered with a number. The machine reading area at the bottom of the data page is printed with an international standard machine reading code.

Page 3 is the request page. Setting up a request page is a common international practice. In addition to asking for assistance to the licensee when necessary, it is also a ceremonial greeting of the licensee as he passes through the border of another country.

Pages 4-7 are note pages to print all types of notes (e. G., passport refills / reissued notes, etc.).

Page 8-46 is the visa page, used to affix country visa stickers, affixed the entry and exit seal.

Page 47 is the emergency information page, the emergency information page should fill in the true and valid information. Page 48 is a note page.

May I apply for a change of passport during the trip?

Not all Chinese embassies and consulates in each country have conditions for processing passport change applications. Some embassies and consulates can only provide travel permit services for travelers to return to China for passport change.

Therefore, long-distance travel should be planned at a time when there are more blank visa pages in your passport. When you arrive at a country where you can change your passport, you should not delay it.

07. How can a passport be regarded as "invalid"?

In the following three cases, passports are considered "invalid":

There is damage to the passport and it affects the normal use of the passport.

The passport itself has expired.

The passport has been stolen or lost. The original passport will automatically expire after the relevant agency issues the lost certificate and the holder applies to the Chinese embassy and consulate for a travel permit (who is abroad) or to the immigration authority for the replacement of a passport (being in China).

How do I lose my passport when I travel abroad?

First step: report the loss to the local police station, obtain the passport loss certificate, passport copy and other documents.

Step 2: additional Travel Certificate issued by Embassy

After the police report loss certificate, go to China embassy or consulate to apply for passport or travel permit.

It takes 15 working days to reissue your passport, which may far exceed your travel time. Therefore, it is recommended that you apply for a travel permit with the equivalent effect of a passport.
