Australian man fined $460! Just for throwing this out of the car. Never make a mistake!

An Adelaide man was fined A $300 for throwing a lit cigarette out of his car and a $160 crime victim tax, (Victims of Crime Levy). He was also the first person to be punished for the APPDob in a Litterer report.

In September last year, the driver was found throwing cigarette butts in Port Rd, a small town of Woodville, and was subsequently punished, AdelaideNow reported. "it's really a message to people that the government will never tolerate littering from cars," said Jeff Todd, director of the Environmental Protection Agency's (Environment Protection Authority).

Since the launch of Dob in a Litterer on Feb. 1, 2017, about 1600 reports of littering by vehicles have been received, and Todd said the number of people using the APP was steadily increasing. Residents can report vehicle littering via Dob in a Litterer.

In Adelaide, fines typically range from A $210 for ordinary waste and A $500 for hazardous waste, including lit cigarette ends and glass, and a fine of A $1000 for large quantities of garbage.
