Another life-saving drug included in the Australian drug welfare program

Prime Minister Morrison and Health minister Greg Hunt announced today that the inclusion of Mavenclad for the treatment of recurrent multiple sclerosis will save more than A $50, 000 a year for (PBS), patients.

Under the new policy, patients with the disease will spend just A $40.3 a course of medication, or A $6.50 in the case of patients who enjoy benefits.

Morrison and Hunt said: "while multiple sclerosis is now incurable, the inclusion of this important drug in PBS, patients is less likely to recur, the activity of the brain is reduced, and the progression of disability is slower."
