A retired Australian warship sank into the sea, and the nearby sea turned into a new diving ground.

According to Xinhua News Agency, after nine months of careful planning and preparation, the retired "Tublurg" landing ship (HMAS Tobruk) sank into the sea off Queensland, Australia, on the 29th, turning into a new diving ground.

According to a news release issued by Queensland's government, engineers dragged the warship to a designated location before opening the ship's sea valve to sink it at the bottom of Grand Sandy Ocean Park.

According to reports, there are entrance and exit around the hull of the Tubulug, convenient for diving enthusiasts to enter and exit the warships, and provide lighting for them at the same time. To meet the needs of different divers, the upper rear deck of the warship will be located in shallow waters not more than 18 meters deep.

"this unique diving site will attract a lot of diving enthusiasts," said Enoch, director of the Kunzhou Environment Agency.

"it's nice to see that visitors are able to explore the history of the Tubulug landing ship through interactive experiences," said Jones, director of the Kunzhou Tourism Development Department.

Built in the late 1970s, the Tubulug was the first special amphibious heavy landing ship of the Royal Australian Navy. The warship retired in 2015 after 34 years of service.

It is reported that the new diving site will be opened as early as August.
