Single mothers in Australia are under great pressure to rent, and 70% of their income is used for rent payment.

One of the most stressed groups in Australia is single mothers in part-time jobs, according to a new report, according to allhomes, a real estate website.

According to the latest rental affordability index (Rental Affordability Index) released by the (Brotherhood of St Laurence) of the St. Lawrence Brotherhood (Brotherhood of St Laurence), the Australian Housing Association (National Shelter), Community Bank, (Community Sector Banking), SGS Economic Planning Institute, (SGS Economics and Planning), Welfare and Employment Agency, In states and territories, single mothers face unaffordable housing rents.

Whit (Ellen Witte), author of the SGS Institute for Economic Planning, said single-parent families were a vulnerable group in terms of housing stress. By sex, 82% of single-parent families have children for their mothers. While these single mothers may have part-time jobs and so on, they need to spend most of their income on rent, as well as childcare and child-rearing costs.

About 89,700 single mothers in Australia are under housing pressure, according to (ABS) 2015-16.

A single mother with a part-time job earns an average of A $40,999 and needs to pay 70 percent of her income for rent, Mr. Witt said.

The report also points to low-income single-parent male families as another vulnerable group.

More than 50 percent of single-parent male households across Australia earn less than A $36,400, the equivalent of one hundred and thirty eight thousand single-parent men under rental pressure.

Pisa (Adrian Pisarki), head of the Australian Housing Society, said the housing crisis had the biggest impact on tenants. He thinks a comprehensive housing policy should be put in place, but a thorough solution to the housing crisis will take another 20 years.
