If you ever wanted to go to Rio de Janeiro's (Rio de Janeiro) Carnival in Brazil, the good news came, according to travel website Traveller. Starting in mid-June, Brazil will grant a visa-free visa to Australia.

It is reported that last week, Brazil's embassy announced that from June 17 this year, Brazil will implement a visa-free Australia.

Previously, Australians needed A $44 (A $62) to apply for an e-visa in Brazil, compared with A $216 for an e-mail application or a embassy visa.

Brazil's embassy said in a statement that it hoped more Australians would visit Brazil. Brazil's government hopes to promote wider social exchanges between the two peoples and to encourage the two largest countries in the southern hemisphere to look for closer ties.

It is reported that, in addition to Australia, Brazil also applies visa-free policies to the United States, Canada and Japan.

However, Australia's (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) travel guide site, Smart Traveller, now advises Australians to travel cautiously to Brazil because of the high crime rate of violence there.

The site also points out that Rio is a high-risk area for tourist looting. The problem of theft is more common in some famous tourist sites. For example, the Christian statue (Christ the Redeemer), St. Teresa (Santa Teresa), Copacabana beach (Copacabana Beach) and so on.

In addition, the website reminds visitors that travel to Brazil may require a yellow fever vaccination certificate.

It is understood that in 2019 passport index (Passport Index) ranking, Australia passport strength for the world's 10th largest. At present, the number of visa-free or visa-on-arrival destinations is 181.
