523 people die a year, Southeast Asia becomes a dangerous place for Australians to travel

In Thailand, where one Australian is killed or hospitalized every day, the country is the most problematic destination for Australian tourists, said Hassan (Bessie Hassan), an expert on travel insurance at Finder, a financial comparison website.

Besides Thailand, Australian tourists often have accidents in Bali.

In addition, in Southeast Asian countries, Australian tourists are most frequently involved in motorcycle accidents, but one woman was seriously ill after drinking a cup of ice-filled coffee during a trip to Vietnam.

Experts advise Australians to make sure they take out travel insurance and follow travel warnings when traveling abroad.
