One woman said a male beggar asked her for money and told them she had no cash, but surprisingly, the beggar took out an electronic transfer machine and said, "I also accept paying by card."
Seven News's court correspondent Shanilla Vera (Sharnelle Vella) said she had breakfast at a cafe last weekend and the man came over.
She was at a cafe in Richmond, Melbourne, called Hella's Cakes, and the beggar approached her and asked for a dollar.
When she said she didn't have any cash, the man pulled out an electronic teller with a light on and working.
"I was crashing on the table," Vera told 3AW Breakfast Radio. I said,'Oh, no, I'm fine, 'and then he went to the next table. "
