Here we go again! Official notice: these types of Chinese must cancel their hukou! Otherwise, the consequences are unthinkable.

Recently, it seemed that as long as the words "green card", "hukou" and "nationality" were mentioned, the heart of the overseas Chinese was suspended, and for a moment people were in danger.

Fortunately, last night, Shanghai officials released a late-night interpretation that at this stage, settlers abroad do not cancel their hukou for the time being, so that many Chinese suspended a heart finally put down.

However, just yesterday, someone posted such a picture on Weibo, so that many Chinese have just put down the heart of the new suspension of the heart again:

Originally, these kinds of people, still want to be cancelled domicile!

1. Notice of cancellation of domicile received

Yesterday, a Weibo user named "@ to go to the United States, Dr. Liu" posted this picture on Weibo:

In the two "notice of cancellation of registered expatriates" in the picture, except for the fact that one person has joined Canadian nationality and the other has joined Australian nationality, the contents of the two notices are about the same. The contents of the two notices are basically the same as that of one person who has joined Canadian nationality and the other one who has joined Australian nationality.

"in accordance with the provisions of the nationality Law of the people's Republic of China, you have automatically lost your Chinese nationality and automatically lost your domicile in this city. Please come to my cancellation account within 3 days from the date of receipt of this notification. And hand in your personal identity Card of the people's Republic of China. If you deal with it in the future, we will cancel your account directly. "

Both copies of the notice are registered at Jiangning Road Police Station in Shanghai. And the fall date is March 9, which is the day before the hot online < regulations > the implementation of the day.

In other words, even though the Shanghai authorities have withdrawn the rule that "overseas settlers want to cancel their household registration", Chinese who have joined foreign countries still have to cancel their household registration, even if the "processing date" is only three days away!

At this point, I do not know how many overseas Chinese who have joined or are ready to join foreign countries will have a headache: how can we deal with the problems left over in the mainland in just three days?

2. Dual nationality must be cancelled without exception

However, the two notices are still a wake-up for some overseas Chinese who still have a fluke mentality to play "brushing the edges": those who join the foreign countries must cancel their accounts, no exception!

After all, it was stated in a previous rule by the British Embassy stressing the inadmissibility of "dual nationality": "some applicants who have joined a foreign country and hold a Chinese visa are suspected of defrauding a Chinese passport."

Indeed, in accordance with the provisions of the nationality Law of the people's Republic of China, "if a Chinese citizen who has settled in a foreign country voluntarily joins or acquires foreign nationality, he shall automatically lose his or her Chinese nationality."

If you have acquired a foreign nationality, you automatically renounce Chinese nationality, so holding a Chinese passport is indeed a "deceitful" act.

Therefore, those who have joined foreign countries must cancel their passports and domestic accounts in accordance with the rules. Otherwise, they will be severely punished for not lending, or they may even be refused to sign or enter the country when they return home.

So, how can people who have joined foreign countries cancel their accounts?

3. The steps for overseas Chinese to cancel their accounts are as follows

Cancellation of the account requires your foreign permanent residence certificate and related translation, or a foreign passport. If you live permanently in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, remember to bring your Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan identity certificate;

Secondly, the domestic household register and ID card. In addition, remember to download the application form for household registration on the official website of the Public Security Bureau;

If you are overseas, you need to entrust someone else and sign a certificate of commission.

After doing this, you will be completely say goodbye with Chinese nationality.

For many foreign friends, renounce nationality, which is the beginning of a new life.

4. Let the Chinese no longer "step by step"

However, joining foreign countries does not mean that overseas Chinese will lose a lot of convenience at home.

Aside from the proposal put forward several times by the "two Sessions" and calling on China to resume its tacit "dual nationality," China has now opened up to work there and learn from it. Family visits and five-year residence permits for expatriate Chinese who need to stay long-term in private affairs will be followed by a 10-year residence visa, as well as a "permanent residence green card" for Chinese Americans.

Last week, Qiu Yuiping, director of the overseas Chinese Affairs Office, also admitted in an interview that the Regulation on permanent residence of foreigners was in the process of legislation, which would lower the threshold for applying for permanent residence status for foreign Chinese in the regulatory system.

Therefore, while the country is severely cracking down on "dual nationality," we should not be too nervous about it, because it is conducive to the return of Chinese to visit relatives, to handle affairs, to carry out business activities, and so on, and so on. We are also steadily advancing the legislation bill.

It is believed that in the future, overseas Chinese will no longer need to retain passports and identity cards by retaining their passports and identity cards, but will become faster and more convenient.

Let's wait and see!
