Australians will have to pay more for the next generation of smartphones and high-speed mobile download services, the Daily Telegraph reported. Recently, Australian News (Telstra) and Samsung (Samsung) launched Australia's first 5G smartphone, breaking the record price.

It is reported that both Australian News and Samsung have launched Samsung Galaxy S105G handsets in Sydney. Although neither company has announced a specific price, however, it has applied for a 24-month rental package and enjoyed moderate traffic. Customers are required to pay at least A $132 a month. That is expected to make the 5G the most expensive smartphone in Australia, breaking the previous A $2399 record set by Samsung's Galaxy S10 Plus.

Australia became the third country in the world to use 5G mobile networks and devices, while the other two were South Korea and the United States, which launched 5G services earlier this month.

Australia will have 10 cities with access to its 5G network, which the company promises will download 20 times faster than 4G networks.

The new Samsung 5G phone package fees range from 132 AUD to 199 AUD.

While it has said that the first year will not charge customers using 5G services, the future customers will still pay more for the new technology. From the beginning of the year, Australia will receive a maximum of $15 a month for customers who use their 5G network.

Still, some Australian customers are ready to pay higher prices for the next generation of phones.

Telsyte, an emerging technology analysis firm, conducts a survey of mobile phone brand Oppo and publishes a new 5G future report (5G Futures).) The results showed that 61% of Australians thought 5G was a must for their next phone. Nearly 2 to 3 Australians plan to buy 5 gigabytes next. Users with flagship phones are preparing to spend an extra A $1500 on the new technology.

The report also forecasts that there will be more than 15 million 5G smartphones on the market by 2023.

Michael Chen (Michael Tran), general manager of Oppo Australia, said Australia has been an early country to adopt new technologies and has been looking for them. Any new technology needs to be further developed and invested in more resources, so some aspects of the price will rise. He expects prices to fall as more 5G phones are launched in Australia.
