Australia's most comprehensive life survey report came out, Sydney became the most difficult city in 30 minutes

Sydney people are highly educated, well-paid and almost more green than the rest of the country, but the time we spend driving is disturbing.

According to the Daily Telegraph, residents of Harbour City spend the longest time driving to work and are most likely to fail to pay their mortgages on time, according to a new study.

One of the most comprehensive assessments of Australia's 22 largest cities, including West Sydney, was released by the Federal goverment on Friday.

Last year, the number of new businesses in Sydney and West Sydney was among the highest, behind the Gold Coast, and the youth unemployment rate in Sydney and West Sydney was also among the lowest, according to the study.

For Sydney residents, however, life is not all about eating and drinking. Money is a headache.

Nearly 10% of West Sydney households were forced to spend nearly 1/3 of their income on mortgage repayment, the largest proportion in the country.

Taylor (Angus Taylor), Australia's city minister, said the assessment, called "National Urban performance Dashboard", was not a study of problems that one city was better than another, but a study of their respective characteristics. And the different opportunities and challenges.

"families that spend more of their income on repaying their loans will spend less on other things, such as food, electricity, transportation and health care," Taylor said. "with changes in personal finances and higher interest rates, They are also more vulnerable. We know that the weakness of West Sydney is distance, the time spent on the way to work and the cost of housing. "

The situation in the rural areas is very different again.

Taylor said that the strength of the regional center is that people live near the workplace and live easily, but important indicators such as job growth and new businesses in the regional centre are lower than expected.

The study also revealed some interesting statistics, such as 35% of households in Sydney speak languages other than English, and 34.2% in West Sydney. The ratio between the two regions is the highest in the country.

In addition, West Sydney has the largest number of people in the country, with an average of 3.01 people; Sydney has 2.77 people, according to people living in the same house. However, only 58.2% of Sydney people can drive to work in 30 minutes, the lowest proportion in the country. Moreover, the peak hours were more than 2/3 longer than the off-peak hours.

Nearly 23% of Sydney take public transport to work, far more than Melbourne in second place. Only 15% of Melbourne's residents take trams, trains or buses to work.

"We can see that there is still a long way to go to create 30-minute cities in Australia, especially in larger cities," Taylor said.

National urban dashboards will be updated on Friday to track whether goverment has achieved its goals in six areas, including jobs, infrastructure, livable, innovation, planning and housing.

Across the country, the dashboard shows Melbourne is the fastest-growing of 22 cities, followed by Geelong, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and West Sydney.

The median age of the West Sydney population was the lowest, at 35; Sydney at 35.7; and Sunshine Coast at 42.3. The sunny coast is the oldest city in the country.

Keynes had the highest proportion of the aboriginal population, 8.89%, followed by Darwin, Townsville,Mackay and Newcastle.

The problem of crime remains a cause for concern. According to the dashboard, only 41% of West Sydney residents feel safe when they go out alone at night. In Sydney, the ratio is 51.8% and the sunshine coast is 60.6%.
