In addition, from the crime data of the past 10 years, we have come up with some interesting data, such as:

1. Melbourne has had the highest crime rate in the past year:

Campbellfield

Collingwood

Fitzroy

St Kilda

Broadmeadows

2. The region with the lowest crime rate in Melbourne over the past year:

Some parts of eastern Melbourne have the lowest crime rates, such as:

Balwyn North

Kew East

Glen Iris

Mont Albert

The crime rate in these districts is only half that in other parts of the state!

3. Districts with the most significant increase in crime rates over the past year:

Craigieburn., north of Melbourne

Last year, there were 4359 crimes in the district, twice as many as 10 years ago!

Other suburbs with rising crime rates include:

Campbellfield

Corio

Frankston North

4. The most common type of crime:

Steal items from a ca

In the past 10 years, the state police have received 473814 reports of "thieves breaking open doors and stealing watches, cell phones and other valuables inside the car."

Of all the crime reports received by the police, 14% were stolen from cars.

Theft of goods from cars is the most common type of crime in the suburbs of Melbourne's metropolitan area of 2-3.

There is also a more common type of crime: burglary.

Last year, there were 28337 home burglaries in Victoria, averaging one every three hours.

The suburbs with a high incidence of burglary are generally located on the edge of Melbourne in fast-growing areas such as Cranbourne,Clyde,Craigieburn.

In 2009, there were only six cases of Clyde, but last year, there were 217.

Part of the reason is that Clyde has built more new homes over the past few years, many of which are empty and easy to recruit thieves.

This also reminds everybody, return home or go on holiday at the end of the year, must lock the door and window of home, and keep valuables.

Shop theft is the most common type of crime in Chirnside Park,Cheltenham,Keilor Downs, where there are many shopping malls.

5. The type of crime that has increased most in the past decade: illegal families violence intervention order (family violence intervention order).

This type of crime accounted for 1.3% of the police in 2015, but now accounts for 5%.

Last year, the police handled an average of 42 such cases a day.

But this is also due to an increase in the number of restraining orders issued by the court, which now issues an average of 30, 000 per year.

Another type of crime is the violation of the bill.

Last year, this type of crime accounted for 4.4% of the total, averaging 32 cases a day.

However, one type of crime has been greatly reduced, it is: destruction of other people's property. Such as breaking other people's windows, destroying other people's mailbox and so on.

It used to be the most common type of crime in Victoria, but it has steadily declined over the past decade.
