A hideout house on a hillside in (Northern Beaches), north of Sydney, won the coveted title of "2018 Australian House of the Year) of the year in Australia, 2018".
According to Radio 7, Cabbage Tree House is a unique, cave-like house located about 30 kilometers from the heart of Sydney at (Bayview), a beach bay scenic spot in northern Sydney.
Designed by architectural design firm Peter Stutchbury Architecture, Cabbage Tree House is built into a rock shelf with luxury swimming pools and jungle views.
"Best Housing (Houses Awards)" is an annual award set up by Home magazine Houses to recognize the best housing projects and select "Home of the year", "apartment of the year" and "Building of the year".
The judges said: "Cabbage Tree House is an extraordinary, complete Australian house that is poetically integrated into the northern beach landscape of Sydney. The design of the house is simple, like a cave, embedded in the floors along the hillside. "
The environmentally friendly house is designed to minimize heating and cooling costs, capture cool breezes from the east in summer and warm sun to the north in winter.
