On May 21, in response to the ban on Alipay, social app payments in Nepal, the two sides said they had taken measures to step up precautions against the use of domestic QR codes abroad.

Alipay said that Alipay in Nepal's cross-border travel business is normal.

Alipay has always followed the local law and regulations outside the country, and we also appeal to the general public to use the bar code payment service in accordance with the agreement of the

Alipay has stressed that the Alipay has taken steps to strengthen the protection against the phenomenon that some users use the two-dimensional code in China for overseas use, and have a certain effect, and the rights to hold the two-dimensional code for the non-compliance service are held.

The social app responded that the social app payments have been cracking down through technical means for overseas non-compliance.

Earlier, it was reported that Nepal's central Bank had officially banned the use of social app payments and Alipay payments in Nepal, saying local overseas revenue had been lost sharply as a result of the illegal use of the payment apps by Chinese tourists.

Most Chinese tourists to Nepal now use social app payments and Alipay when trading, and most Chinese citizen in Nepal also use mobile payments frequently, the report said.

However, these payment applications from China are not licensed by government in Nepal, which means that although consumers spend locally, the actual payment process takes place in China.

This phenomenon has led to the fact that chinese citizen is not going to pass through the bank of nepal in the local deal, and that nepal authorities will not be able to define the consumption of chinese tourists as an overseas income. And it also means that Chinese businessmen can earn their income without paying taxes, so the payments are illegal in Nepal.
