Sydney Uber driver indecent female passenger! Do you dare to ride an online car-hailing car?

A Sydney-based Uber driver is accused of following a young passenger into his home late at night in an attempt to indecent assault.

At 1am on Sunday, the 21-year-old woman called an online ride-hailing with a male friend at a fast-food restaurant in Kingsford, police said.

The 27-year-old driver allegedly made inappropriate comments on her after her companion got out of the car.

When the driver arrived at the woman's home in Hillsdale, he assaulted the woman and assaulted her, then followed her into the flat and again.

Police said the woman fortunately managed to escape, uninjured and reported to the police.

At about 10 a.m. Monday, the man was arrested at a home in Sydney's North District and charged with two counts of indecency and two ordinary attacks.

He will appear before court in Manly on Thursday, 31 May.
