New York beat Melbourne, London and Chicago to top the list of best cities in the world.

According to the Daily Mail, the US city of New York topped the list of the world's best cities in 2019 because of its excellent combination of restaurants, bars, culture and entertainment, according to a survey by leading magazine Time Out.

The magazine publishes the Urban Life Index (City Life Index).) every year based on criteria such as diet, drinks, culture, friendliness, economic affordability and well-being.

New York scored high for its diversity, live concerts and nightlife, making it one of the cities most people around the world want to go to in 2019, second only to Tokyo.

Melbourne ranked No. 2 on the list and was highly rated in terms of happiness, creativity, diet and live concerts.

Chicago ranked No. 3 in the overall list, beating the diet, entertainment and well-being indicators.

In culture, food and live concerts, Londoners are proud of their city. The unpredictability of Brexit does not seem to deter visitors. Next to Tokyo and New York, London is the third most sought-after city in the world this year.

The top five cities on this year's list are Los Angeles, where residents are more likely to eat out than the rest of the United States, and whose exciting food has finally caught the attention of the global public.

Manning (James Manning), editor of the Global Program at < Time Out > magazine, said: "since 1968, the magazine has been helping people explore and enjoy city fun and has now expanded to 315 cities since London. Every city on the list should be on the readers' wish list for 2019. "
