New state government offers a prize of five hundred thousand Australian dollars for the October Greyhound competition

Two years after trying to ban the greyhound industry, new state government awarded a five hundred thousand Australian dollar prize to the grayhound competition following the discovery of nine dead dogs in a dog farm, the 9News reported on July 31st.

The new state grizzly race, minister Paul Toole, says it will be the world's most luxurious grayhound race with an government-funded T $ five hundred thousand for Million Dollar Chase, which will be held in Sydney's Wentworth Park.

Two years ago, former Australian Prime Minister Mike Baird tried to ban dog racing because of concerns about animal welfare.

Just in early July, the Society for the Prevention of Animal abuse (RSPCA) found nine rotting gray dog bodies, all in the same tomb, at a registered greyhound domestication unit in Marsden Park.

Twelve other thin greyhounds in the unit were detained.

Asked about the incident, minister Paul said it had imposed stricter restrictions on the industry.

"We will seriously investigate such incidents and if we find out, we will disqualify the unit," he said.

"as a matter of fact, I think RSPCA has done a great job this time and is good for the long-term development of the Grizzard competition industry."

Tony Mestv, chief executive of the Greyhound Race, said the five hundred thousand Australian dollar disbursed by government attests to the promising future of the industry.

"it was the biggest prize in the greyhound competition industry for at least 20 years."

Opponents of the campaign said the government-funded behavior was "disgusting".

Green MP Mehreen Faruqi says the government-funded behavior is fuelling the greyhound industry.

Million Dollar Chase will first pick finalists from 11 regions and then hold the finals in Wentworth Park in October.

The total amount of the prize is 1.7 million Australian dollars, and the championship prize in the finals is 1 million Australian dollars.

Once it is discovered that the champ dog is not well cared for after retirement, the owner must return a reward of 1 million Australian dollars.
