The number of Chinese tourists to Australia has fallen in a row, and the situation in the United States and Singapore is even worse.

The latest figures released by Australia's Bureau of Statistics (ABS) show that the number of Chinese tourists entering the country fell in April and May this year compared with the same period last year.

The number of Chinese visitors continued to fall 1.2 percent in May from a year earlier, after falling 6 percent in April from a year earlier, according to (Overseas Arrivals and Departures) statistics.

By the same token, Chinese tourists in the United States and New Zealand have also experienced a sharp decline.

New Zealand's official figures show that this year is the New China Tourism year, but the number of Chinese tourists visiting New Zealand fell 21 percent to 9900 in April.

Tehseen Islam, a population indicator manager at Bureau of Statistics, New Zealand, said: "the number of tourists from China is lower than in 2017."

Official figures also show that by May, the number of Chinese tourists to New Zealand had fallen another 2800 from a year earlier.

In the United States, the number of Chinese tourists fell in 2018 for the first time in 15 years.

From January to May 2019, the number of Chinese tourists to the United States fell 5.3 percent from a year earlier.

Huang Songshan, an expert on tourism research and policy at Edie Scolvin University, told Australian Broadcasting Corporation ABC in Chinese that there are many reasons for the decline in Chinese tourism to the United States.

The Sino-US trade war has brought about a political tension between the two countries.

``It must have a direct impact on the decrease in the number of people, '' said the[China issued a warning of travel to the United States earlier].

The decline in the yuan's exchange rate against the dollar has also left Chinese tourists from the United States, he said. However, Professor Huang Songshan believes this is not the main reason for the decline in Chinese tourists to Australia.

"the RMB exchange rate against the Australian dollar is still very strong."

He analyzed that the inflection point could come after a sizable number of Chinese tourists visited Australia last year.

"1.4 million is already very large. For Australia as a whole, the tourism reception system is already a little overloaded, and especially is also a big challenge during the peak season. So in terms of the increase in the number of tourists, it is impossible to continue to grow without restriction. When will there be an inflection point?"

Professor Huang Songshan said Australia is doing well compared with the sharp decline in Chinese tourists in the United States and New Zealand, but be vigilant.

"I don't think it's necessary to worry too much at the moment, but be sure to prevent it. Tourism is still vulnerable in some cases."

He says the most noteworthy thing now is the trend of the world's economic.

"China's outbound tourism may form an inflection point as a whole. Because this has a certain relationship with the development of China's economy. Due to the large-scale Sino-US trade war, the overall size of China's outbound tourism will also be affected."
