Young women are most vulnerable to violence in Victoria! Sexual crime case jumped 12% a yea

Women in their 20s are among the biggest victims of crime in Victoria, the Herald Sun reported.

According to media reports, women between the ages of 20 and 29 are among the most at risk of violence in Victoria, with rape and tracking the most at risk, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Crime Statistics.

By March, 8950 of the crimes committed against individuals had been committed against women in their 20s.

Men of the same age were victims of 6940 cases.

Figures show that sexual crime cases against women are up 12% compared with the previous year.

At the same time, female stalking, sexual harassment and threatening behavior also reached 4501 cases, more than double the male 2196 cases.

Police also know that violence against women is different from that of men, said Libby Murphy, the state police's deputy executive of domestic violence.

Many of the violations against women are affected by domestic violence, Murphy said.

"it's sad that women are more likely to be assaulted by people they know than strangers," Murphy said. "the state police have worked very hard to raise awareness and change attitudes about such cases. Improve the police response to this.

But Murphy also points out that men are as vulnerable as women, according to the data.

"Women are more likely to be subjected to violence from family members in their homes, but men are more likely to be subjected to violence in public."

In the year to March, a total of 147 men and 70 women were killed in Victoria, while in the case of robbery, 2256 men were robbed, compared with 585 women.

"at all times, everyone has the right to have sense of security when using public places and services," Murphy said.

On June 12, Eurydice Dixon, a popular comedian, was followed on his way home via Princes Park, rape and murder.

Passers-by found Dixon's body at the Carlton football stadium, sparking outrage at violence against women.

A day after the discovery of Dixon's body, 19-year-old Jaymes Todd turned himself in to the Broadmeadows police station. He's been charged with rape and murder.

Just days after the Dixon rape and kill case, another woman in her 30s was abducted in Carlton and rape.

Around 04:30, the woman and her friends were at the intersection of the streets of Grattan and Lygon. Two men charged with kidnapping and rape.
