Do you want to tip in Australia? How much should I give you? More than half of the Australians are confused.

More than half of the Australians said they were confused about the tip at restaurants and were not clear about whether to tip or how much to give.

More than half of Australians said they were confused about tipping in restaurants and were not sure whether to tip or how much, the Herald Sun reported. A new report points out that this makes Australians one of the worst tipping groups in the world.

It is reported that online ordering platform OpenTable conducted a survey of diners in 22 countries around the world to see if they would leave tips for eating out.

The results showed that more than half of Australians said they were confused about tipping in restaurants, making Australians one of the worst tipping groups in the world.

It is reported that 1 / 3 Australians will not leave any tips to restaurant staff when eating out. Of the Australians who tipped, 1% gave a tip of between 9% and 10%, and 17% gave a tip of 5%. This is below the global average. Twenty-seven per cent of people around the world tip 10 per cent when they go out to dinner in their own country.

Australian diners are most likely to tip in restaurants where they eat, while in local cafes, Australians are half willing to tip.

The report found that 51% of Australians prefer to include tips in their restaurant bills.

Hillary (Josh Hillary), director of catering at Rockpool Dining Group, a catering group, says the idea of tipping is not as deep-rooted in Australia as in North America. Fortunately, income levels are relatively high here, which means that the burden of supporting an industry does not fall on customers. He believes that Australians are not bad tipping providers, they are just more value-oriented. Local diners in Australia prefer to tip for extra service.
