Is Chinese money easy to earn? Former minister: meat can be sold at a good price with the Australian name on it

Selling meat in China, by name of Australia, is enough to sell for a good price, and that price has opened up an ultra-high-end market for livestock farmers.

Former trade minister Rob (Andrew Robb) believes Australian producers have the opportunity to profit from China's pursuit of high-quality sheep beef, which is unprecedented.

"to sell to these markets, we need to stand up to 1%." Rob told a meeting of government commodity forecasters in Canberra on Wednesday.

Australian beef exports to China are expected to grow 17 percent to 122000 tonnes between 2017 and 18, according to the Australian Bureau of Agriculture and Resources Economics.

While competition from other beef producers, such as Brazil, is expected to increase, Australia's beef exports to China are expected to grow by 5 percent a year to 158000 tonnes by 2022 / 23.

Rob, who is also a board member of Australia's ranch giant S Kidman & Co, said the word "Australia" is a strong brand in China.

"that's why you're going to Shanghai and paying 360 yuan for a beautiful Australian steak." "Australia already has an advantage-clean, green and healthy," he said.

Rob believes that technology is the next frontier in building existing trust.

He cited an example where Chinese consumers can now use an app to choose what kind of meat they need and then watch videos of the Australian farm where the meat is made. China's emerging middle class is increasingly concerned about food sources and must make sure it is healthy.

"focus on health-the outlook is limitless." Said Rob.

With Australia as China's seventh-largest trading partner and U.S. President Donald Trump's protectionist moves, Rob also ran on him. "We have a surplus of about 70 billion yuan in our exports to China, so Trump, you're going to be sad," he said.
