How to catch lobster in Western Australia and share the experience of catching lobster in Western Australia for many years

Today Weimper shares an article that has been living in Western Australia for many years and has a wealth of Chinese friends who catch lobsters in Western Australia. By the way, give everyone popular science in the lobster fighter, the Australian dragon.

First of all, a town map is the source of the experience of this article, as a result of the mobile phone just changed last year, so that's all you can do now.

When it comes to Australian dragons, there are actually several species, two of which are familiar to us, one is our unique, westernrock lobster, in Western Australia, the other is southernrock lobster, which is distributed on both the eastern coast and New Zealand, and several species of flower dragons are distributed in the northern tropics.

Today mainly to pick our Western Australia specialty, westernrock lobster, locals like to call crayfish. (crayfish original refers to lobster with pliers).

The lobsters referred to later are all western rock lobster, all requirements are limited to the Perthmetro area, other areas are slightly different, do not mention here for the time being, if you have any questions, you can join our group of questions.

Important news, now we can catch lobster year round in Western Australia! There are no longer seasonal limits.

First of all, I use my own understanding to introduce the lobster capture rules, we put aside the sparse fishing dry, respectively from two aspects of free-hand fishing and lobster cage fishing. But the requirements for lobsters that can be taken home are the same.

* need to buy a lobster capture license. If you use ships as a means of transport, you will also need to buy a license to catch seafood from ships.

: 8 per person per day, no matter how many people per boat up to 24

: minimum size per head: 76 mm

The method of measurement is shown in the figure

: do not harm lobster while catching

: seeded female lobster and female lobster entering spawning state must be released

The seeded female lobster is very recognizable, with orange seeds hanging under its stomach. And entering the oviposition state is relatively easy to ignore.

First of all, to teach you a way to identify male and female, remember, female dragon shrimp have scissors hands, in fact, is used to hold eggs.

Black plaques on the chest show that the female lobster has spawned and must be released.

: crayfish caught should be clipped (or drilled in the tail) in order to distinguish them from commercially fished lobsters.

: no one shall buy or sell any seafood caught under a recreational fishing certificate

Diving capture

* you can use the method of unarmed snapping

: lobster cover or obtuse hook can be used

: prohibition of the use of harpoon fishing nets, such as tools that harm lobste

Simply put, no method of harming lobsters can be used, and the captured lobsters must not have any wounds and remain intact, so that they can survive even if they are caught in a small or seeded female shrimp.

: every diver must carefully examine and measure the caught lobster to ensure that it is qualified or not qualified and released before it can continue to catch the next lobster.

Use lobster cages to catch:

* each lobster permit holder can place up to two shrimp cages in the sea.

: up to 6 shrimp cages per boat per day

If there are two holders on board, they can pull up to four cages. If there are more than three holders on board, they can only pull up to six cages.

: more than 6 shrimp cages can never be transported on board

: only lobster permit holders can pull up their cages (not others' cages)

Shrimp cage details

If the shrimp cage purchased from the merchant, will meet the standards of Western Australia, if you plan to make your own shrimp cage, please refer to the following details

* Shrimp cage must not exceed 1000 mm in width and not more than 500mm in height

* Shrimp cage can only have one entrance, entrance must be a hard material, width must be at least 160mm width

* there can be no other split space inside the shrimp cage, and the entrance shall not block the escape.

* there are at least 3 escape points per shrimp cage. The location of the escape must not be higher than the bottom of the shrimp cage 110 mm. The escape should be at least 54mm wide and 305mm long.

Relationship between holder and shrimp cage:

: each holder can drop two cages

: two holders can also share a shrimp cage, which must be equipped with two floats and each must be marked with an ID number of the holde

: if two people share a shrimp cage, only one person's catch can be caught in the absence of one of them.

Floating rope and ball requirements

* the diameter of each float shall not be less than 15cm

: each float must mark the holder's ID number with the letter nude less than 6cm

* each float rope must have two floats, not more or less, only two.

: floating rope must be connected to the other end of the escape exit

: if the length of the floating rope exceeds 20 metres, half of the rope is required not to float on the surface of the water and must sink vertically into the water (avoid being strangled by the propeller of other ships)

Bait:

If you want lobster to get into the cage, you have to bait it. Generally choose fish head (Tuna fish / Pan-Fried Mackerel, etc.), fish head cheap, taste lasting.

: do not use ribbons, etc., to entangle the bait

: no land animal bones can be used as bait

: no animal parts with fur can be used as bait (such as a neighbor's cat)

: abalone and lobster should not be used as bait (lobsters are very fond of eating the same kind)

The following is practical information.

The requirements for the two capture methods are outlined above, but more importantly, where and when lobster can be caught!

The first thing we need to know is where lobsters live, where they go, where they live, where they have to go, and where they have to go, so as to increase the chances of harvest.

Use:

Methods of diving

Lobsters like to live in rock seams, especially narrow and deep ones, so that they can easily escape hunters, if you can swim through the seam very easily, or you can see large groups of fish down there shuttling through the seams. The chances of lobster in this place are much lower.

Lobsters like to come out to relax when the current is small, usually on the back-to-back side of the current. If the current was heavy and a lot of sand was raised, the lobster would return to the depth of the hole.

Lobsters also like to stay in the sand and the seams of stone, if you see the sand next to the seams, and still carrying the current, then go down and have a look, there may be a flock of lobsters waiting for you.

There is also a directional factor, if you see a sea shell and conch bodies, congratulations, this is a lobster eating place, looking nearby, should be harvest, of course, may also be octopus feeding place. Eight claw is the lobster's natural enemy, grabs a live eight claw, plugs into the lobster full hole, lobster all scrambles to jump to the outside.

Methods of using shrimp cages

Knowing where the lobster was hiding, we put the cage at its door and looked at the fat meat and no takeout. The lobster had to go in. So cages are usually placed next to the rocks. Note that it's easy to get the cage stuck too close. Once stuck, there's no other way to get your cage back than diving.

At a depth of 5 to 40 meters, lobsters are the most widely distributed range, and entertainment players generally throw cages between 10 and 20 meters.

In cages, we can't help but mention that white run, which is not the white walker, in the song of ice and fire, is a lobster that has just changed its shell.

White run, usually occurs between late November and mid-December, which is a big parade every year. Why called whiterun, should just change shell lobster or soft, the color is close to pale pink, some pale. In contrast to the dark red, very hard shell lobster, this is the condition before the shell.

Young lobsters live in the seams of water and rocks, usually reaching the age of 4, for sexual maturity, and for deep-sea life, where they travel in large quantities to deep-sea parade activities, known as whiterun.. Lobster activity was so active during this period that they gave up hiding in order to eat a lot. Even if you leave the cage in the sand, a lot of lobster will be attracted by the bait. Even more exaggeratively, empty cages without bait will get in.

So this is the best time of the year to catch lobster, and it's a perfect time to stagger from the peak of commercial fishing.

On the other hand, 95% of the total commercial lobster catch in Western Australia is sold to the motherland, so the fishing volume is usually larger before the New year's Day.

toll

Recommend the use of tuna and other fatty fish in the body, of course, the general use of fish heads, if the boss is not short of money, full of goldgun fish inside, I believe the effect is very good.

Bait to use fresh, two-day exchange, lobster does not like rotting meat.

Soak the shrimp cage before entering the water. Fresh wood cage will have a large number of bubbles, lobster see bubbles will not go in.

The cage has to put a lot of weight in it, so that it doesn't move under the current. Cages drifting along with the current will not reap.

The most important thing is to remember where you throw the cage.

When pulling the cage must wear gloves, often blue ring octopus are pulled up together, blue ring octopus is very poisonous. The second factor is that a fisherman's fish hook will hang on your water line and stab yourself without gloves.

The lobster catch still has the chance to win the big prize, the maximum prize is up to 3000 Australian dollars

If you catch a lobster labeled by the fisheries agency and feedback on the location of the catch and the weight of the lobster, you will have a chance to win the prize

Solo pleasure is better than all kinds of pleasure, giving people fish is better than teaching people to fish. Finally, the author hopes that all of us can be safe and law-abiding fishing music.
