Australia's 20 most common surnames are revealed, one of which is somewhat unexpected.
According to the Daily Mail, (White Pages), an Australian white-page website, publishes the list of the top 20 most common surnames in Australia of the year, with Smith (Smith). Still at the top of the list.
In addition to Smith, the top 10 most common surnames in Australia are Jones (Jones), Williams (Williams), Brown (Brown), Wilson (Wilson), Taylor (Taylor), Johnson (Johnson), Lee (Lee), Martin (Martin) and White (White).
The number of residents surnamed Smith in the new state is higher than in other states and territories. At the urban level, (Port Macquarie), Dabo (Dubbo), new state McGaret port, and (Devonport) Smith, Towenport, last name, were the most concentrated.
The list of the most common surnames in Australia's states and territories varies widely.
Although Smith once again topped the list of Australia's most common surnames, the white page website pointed out that a new surname that had broken the tradition was on the list this year. Vietnam's traditional surname, Nguyen (Nguyen), made the 15th place in the list.
Palmer (Stephen Palmer), executive general manager of the Australian White pages website, said it marked the multicultural development of Australian society.
"although we have been tracking Australian surname data for years, there are only signs of multiculturalism since 2016," Palmer said.
