Embassy of the People's Republic of China (Embassy of the People's Republic of China) is located in the Australian capital, Canberra.
Embassy of the People's Republic of China to the north of Griffin Lake (Lake Burley Griffin), overlooking the Capitol (Parliament House), covers an area of 21628 square meters, the building area of 7000 square meters. The main buildings of the embassy include the main building, the Ambassador's residence and the residence of the librarians. The whole building is an ancient building with Chinese traditional style. In front of the main building on both sides of a white jade lion, the building hall and multi-function hall decoration elegant, ancient. Between the main building and the ambassador's residence is a Chinese garden of Jiangnan charm: a bay of lake reflects the willows of the rockery mountain, the small bridge song is connected with the pavilions and waterside pavilions, the verandas are carved and painted, the pebble path is curved and the scenery is unique. There is also a traditional and chic Chinese courtyard in the main building patio and the ambassador's residence.
The whole building of Embassy of the People's Republic of China is jointly designed by Guangzhou Architectural Design Institute and WULU Company of Hong Kong. The rooftop part of the traditional Chinese architecture, as well as the rockery, garden view and interior decoration, are done by craftsmen from Shanghai. On November 18, 1998, Premier Li Peng laid the foundation for the embassy in person and completed all the works in July 1990, lasting one year and eight months. The building materials used are partly from China: for example, all the rockery stone comes from Chaohu Lake, Anhui Province, the glazed tile on the roof of the building is produced from Yixing Tao du, and the tapestry in the main building hall is made by Hangzhou.
The Chinese Embassy in Australia not only fully showcased the traditional architectural art of the Chinese nation, but also added a unique tourist attraction to the city of Canberra.
