Designed in 1941 by the British company (Fairey), the firefly fighter is a multi-purpose fighter capable of carrying out a variety of missions such as combat, attack, reconnaissance, night fighter and anti-submarine. Firefly fighters produced a total of 1623 aircraft. They are in use in Britain, Canada, Australia and the Netherlands.

In Griffith, a real firefly Firefly fighter is held on a metal stand, a symbol of history that reminds the world of the value of peace, which has become one of Griffith's marks. The firefly plane was built in 1950 and retired from 1956.
