Geelong Gallery is located in the heart of Victoria's second-largest city, Geelong, next to Johnstone Park (Johnstone Park).
Founded in 1896, Geelong Gallery is one of Victoria's oldest art galleries. The museum's magnificent architecture features the home-grown decorative art of European painting in Australia, including 18th and 19th century British porcelain, paintings, and contemporary Australian paintings, prints, sculptures and ceramics, among others. It also includes early works of art by the indigenous peoples of the Geelong area.
Geelong Gallery owns Australian treasures such as Eug è ne von Gu é rard's < Geelong (View of Geelong) > (1856) and Frederick McCubbin's < > Bush Funeral (A bush buria) > (1890).
