Bass Point Reserve, located in the eastern Cape of Shellharbour in (Illawarra region), southeastern New South Wales, covers an area of about 1 square kilometre.
Cape Beth (Bass Point), named after explorer George Bath (George Bass) around 1800, has a beautiful, secluded view. The surrounding waters of Cape Beth are clear, underwater organisms are diverse, a diving resort, and the waters are considered an important habitat for the endangered grey nurse shark, (Grey nurse shark). In addition, it also has the famous Big Wave surf point "Red Beach (Redsans)".
