Parliament of New South Wales is located in the oldest existing public building in Sydney. This two-story Georgian-style facade and new Gothic wing on both sides was originally the office building of the chief surgeon at Sydney Hospital, built in 1816. Then gradually eroded the rooms in the building; In 1843 and 1856, the wing was built on the north and south sides of the main building; in 1974, the government began a large-scale reconstruction plan.
