Introduction

Memorial Arch at Eastern View is located in (Great Ocean Road), Victoria's famous Ocean Road, between Iris Inlet (Aireys Inlet) and Lorne.

Although Oceanic Road officially began at Torkan (Torquay), it represents the iconic building that began on Oceanic Road: "Memorial Arch at Eastern View" between the towns of Ellis Inlet and Lorne. About five kilometers west of Iris Inlet, you can see the giant wood-like arch across the road, as well as monuments and statues of construction workers. Almost all self-driving tourists and buses will stop here, take photos, and be a must-see spot on Oceania Road.

After the end of World War I, the Victoria retired Services Alliance, (The Returned & Service League RSL), and other local social organizations actively provided them with various jobs, including the construction of Oceanic Road, in the face of a large number of disabled soldiers. The entire project offered jobs to 3000 ex-soldiers, and for that reason the memorial arches and workers' statues also paid a noble tribute to the soldiers who had sacrificed their lives to defend their homeland.
