Australian airport exit tax rebate issued

 19 Jan 2018

In mid-January, Australia is nearing the end of the term, and after the second largest return season, friends preparing to return home for the New year are scraping their hands to prepare their own gift lists, and Chinese tourists who have experienced the summer Christmas are also about to return to China. It's time to prepare a wave of exit tax rebate guidelines!

Exit

In fact, the matter of leaving the country is not too much to describe. Neither tourists nor Chinese and overseas students living in Australia are familiar with this, but there are still a few points that need to be reminded:

1, check in at the airport in advance;

2. Since July 1, 2017, Australia has cancelled filling out exit cards, saving a great deal of time;

3. The cases in Australia are similar to those in other parts of the world, but there is one point to mention. There are always some airport staff who will carry out separate inspections on the Chinese and do not have to worry about being inspected separately, as long as they do not carry contraband. This is just a process;

4, Australia has adopted the latest idea scanning mode-as long as the passport is placed in the machine according to the requirements, electronic identification can be used.

After passing the security check, everyone will enter the duty-free zone, see a wide variety of products, but also need to bear in mind-tax rebate, which is also the focus of our introduction today: tax rebate.

Tax refund

Bought a pile of gifts, of which up to 10% of the consumption tax is refundable, the TRS full name Tourist Refund Scheme, is what we often call the "tourist tax rebate program." Because all goods sold in Australia will have a consumption tax of 10% (GST) or a wine balance tax of (WET).

The tax rebate applies only to goods with a total shopping price of $300 (including excise tax (GST) and above) and is carried out by tourists in the form of hand luggage.

Please note that the total purchase price refers to a single invoice under a single store with a total invoice price of more than $300, which can be accumulated in the same store with no upper limit.

But unlike other tourist shopping plans, the tourist tax rebate program allows tourists to use the goods before leave Australia.

Note: some goods are duty-free, such as grain, milk powder, etc. When buying, you can ask, duty-free goods, there is no part of the tax payment, there is no tax can be refunded.

3, goods worth more than US $300 and GST exceeding US $30, the total amount of items purchased in the same store can be added up to a total of more than (it should be noted that the items purchased in the same store refer to the ABN as shown on the invoice must be the same. The same brand;

For example, chemist warehouse or PANDORA, the ABN of different stores may be different, please try to buy from the same store) and like milk powder and individual health products, there is no GST, so it is very likely that the total amount of goods you buy is more than 300 dollars. However, GST is not enough to make tax rebates, so this needs to be taken care of!

4. The real name system of valuables, luxury goods and list items need to be given the name of the buyer at the time of purchase, and will be shown on the invoice, in which case the buyer will have to refund the tax.

It is also important to note here that the Australian law stipulates that goods with a total commodity price of more than 900 Australian dollars will need to be returned to Australia after the tax rebate is brought back to Australia, and the tax refund will be completed, so you know that the tax rebate is very happy, and you need to be careful to bring it back!

Note: the name and address of the buyer will be printed on the ticket above A $1000. I am required to hold my passport and boarding pass for tax rebate. There will be no tax rebate if there is any discrepancy in the data.

Note: for those liquid products that need to be checked in, such as perfume, moisturizing water and so on, they need to go to the customs office before checking in the luggage to check the items that need to be checked in with the luggage.
