Australian Prime Minister Morrison (Scott Morrison) will begin attending a two-day East Asia summit in Thailand on Sunday. (East Asian Summit), is expected to meet with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang on Sunday during a busy meeting.

Morrison was scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, when he attended the (APEC) summit in Chile later this month, but the summit was cancelled because of disturbances, the Australian news agency reported.

Earlier this week, Australian Foreign Minister Penn (Marise Payne) was criticized by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs speaker for his comments on China`s human rights.

Despite disputes between Australia and China, the biggest trading partner, Morrison held a long dialogue with Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan last month, saying the dialogue was "positive and constructive."

At the same time, the US presidential Donald Trump refused to attend the East Asia Summit, represented by his assistant Guoan consultant Robert O`Brien.

Speaking at the US Washington on Friday, Australian Defense Minister Reynolds (Linda Reynolds) called on the United States to play a more important role in the Indian Ocean-Pacific region to counter China`s strength and influence, adding that "the United States is the key to India`s success in peace and prosperity."
