Early this morning, a woman was found dead next to a shopping mall in Melbourne`s Bundoora area. The police are currently investigating the case.
At about 7: 00 a passer-by found a woman dead in the bushes next to a main road in Bundoora. The police closed the scene immediately after witnesses called the police.
Police say the body is about to be examined.
Homicide detectives believe the woman`s cause of death is suspicious. She may have been followed and sexually assaulted.
Detective Andrew Stamper said at a news conference this afternoon: "it is clear that this woman has been attacked."
Stamper revealed that the woman took the No. 86 tram from City around 11:00 last night, when she was probably followed.
But police are not sure whether the bush where the body was found was at the scene of the crime.
"the victim was found here, and we have made it the place of the crime for the time being, but it is too early to say anything."

At present, the identity of the woman has not been determined.
Stamper hopes that people familiar with the matter will provide the police with clues.
