188 E Overview of interim visas for entrepreneurs
Since September 10, 2016, the Australian Immigration Service has added a new 188 E category to the existing 188 visa series, the entrepreneurs temporary Visa (Entrepreneur Stream). The visa is a sub-category of 188 visas that need to be applied through the SkillSelect scoring system and are nominated by state or territorial governments. Entrepreneurs need to achieve IELTS 4, 6 points in English and receive A $ two hundred thousand from Australian third-party organizations to conduct business activities in Australia, meeting certain conditions, such as turnover, and hiring local staff. - Entrepreneurial activity must involve innovative ideas (innovation can be ideas, products or processes to create better solutions for businesses, consumers, economies and societies. Innovation creates jobs, improves efficiency, and breaks down barriers to growth. Innovation may not necessarily be the creation of new products, it may also be a way to improve the way things are done);
- Provide a business plan to illustrate the potential benefits of entrepreneurial activities to the state of Victoria;
- Innovative activities have proven beneficial to the State of Victoria, including, but not limited to:
- Whether the nature of innovation activities improves efficiency, creates dynamic products or improves existing services;
- The contribution of innovative activities to the economy of Victoria, or the benefits to society and the environment;
- Whether innovation is particularly needed for the state's industries;
- Whether innovation can create jobs in Victoria;
- Whether an innovation activity is registered as a patent, design, or trademark
Applicants and family members should have adequate settlement funds;
Applicants should live in Victoria during entrepreneurial activities.
188E visa VIC Victorian guarantee application process
- Submit an application for EOI through SkillSelect;
- Prepare application materials (Victorian guarantee terms, if using an agent to provide a form of attorney, investment agreements of a third party, and business plans);
- Download and fill out the offline application form and send it to businessmigration@liveinvictoria.vic.gov.au (the online application form is under development and the offline application form is a provisional application method);
- Once the state guarantee is approved, SkillSelect automatically issues an EOI invitation;
- Submit visa application to DIBP within 60 days.
