An old woman was burned to death after a night fire broke out at the Melbourne mansion

 10 Jun 2018

Neighbors were woken up Saturday night after a deadly fire broke out at a house in West Footscray, Melbourne`s west side.

Shortly before 12:30, emergency services got a phone call and rushed to a two-story house in Clive St to fight the fire, but unfortunately a 62-year-old woman died on the spot.

It took 40 firefighters nearly 40 minutes to control the fire.

Another 68-year-old woman was slightly injured and was taken to the hospital.

The exact cause of the fire is not clear. Fire investigators have arrived at the scene and are conducting an investigation.

Neighbor Maria (Maria) said she woke up to see the house opposite her house on fire.

"I heard a woman shouting," she told the Herald Sun. I can`t believe the fire spread all over the house so fast. "

She praised the rescue workers for their efforts.

"the police did everything they could," said Maria. "they put their heart and soul into the rescue."

Felipe. Yobila (Felipe Ubilla) `s house is behind the burned-out house.

He woke up by the popping and slamming sound, at first he thought it was fireworks.

"but then I put my head out and saw the fire," he said. "the man who lives next door wants to put out the fire with a hose."

He said they would be shocked by the close relationship between their neighborhoods.

"everyone has a very good relationship," said Peter, 52, a resident of Clive St. The two old women are active in the church, but they remain silent most of the time, says Lenwick (Peter Renwick).

He said: "they are not very capable, they have disabilities. I don`t know them very well. I just come and go in the community, but they seem to have dealings with the church. "
