Australian driver's license score, illegal penalty amount guide, how to inquire about violation in Australia?

 23 Jun 2019

Many partners who drive in China know that the clearance time of the driver`s license is the date of issuance of the license. If your driver`s license is not deducted 12 points within a year, the system automatically clears the license on the date of issuance of the license each year. In Australia, as in China, every driver`s license holder has a score. This score is 0 in the absence of any violations, and when driving violations occur, different violations correspond to different scores will be accumulated in the driving record of the driver`s license holder. So what is the specific rule of violation of rules and regulations?

In Australia, the starting score of a driver`s license is 0, and no matter what state you drive in, you will increase the score every time you break the rules. If the driver`s score exceeds a certain upper limit in three years, the driver`s license holder will face suspension or cancellation of his license. So how much is the upper limit for each driver`s license?

Let`s take a look at the rules of Victoria first:

The maximum (full licence) for a full-time driver`s license is 12 points for three years, and the upper limit for a college driver`s license (learner) / p license / overseas driver`s license is 5 points for one year or 12 points for three years. Basically, if you are added 12 points within three years, you will be suspended or revoked.

Let`s take a look at the rules of the new state (all of which are limited to three years):

The maximum (unrestricted licence) of full-time driver`s license is 13 points, that of professional driver is 14 points, that of p2 driver license is 7 points, and that of p1 and learner driver`s license is 4 points.

For full-time driver`s license (unrestricted licence), if you break the rules to 13 points, you will be suspended for 3 months, 16 points for 19 points, 4 months for suspension, 20 points or more, and suspended for 5 months.

The scores vary from state to state, for example, 4 points for driving with mobile phones and 4 points for railway intersections.

Xinzhou violations are mainly six categories: speeding violations, parking violations, school area violations, general driving violations, heavy vehicle fatigue driving violations at railway intersections, all of which are 3 points.

When the deductible score reaches the corresponding limit, the New State Road Traffic Administration RTA will inform you of the starting time and phase of your driver`s license revoked, or the period during which you do not have the right to apply for a driver`s license. Until you receive a notice from RTA, you can continue to drive and your driver`s license is still valid until you are unable to drive on the day specified by RTA.

In Victoria, you can call 1300 728 977 or take your driver`s license to VicRoads centre for inquiry, both of which are free. But if you are an international driver`s license, you must contact the staff at 13 11 71.

In Xinzhou, you can check your cumulative scores on the www.myrta.com website. In order to protect your personal privacy, you need to sign in before you can see the relevant information.

For the safety of yourself and others, and some unnecessary losses / troubles, the friends who drive in Australia must be familiar with the traffic rules, don`t get away with it, and drive legally and safely!
