Anonymous phone threats to primary schools across Australia

 01 Dec 2016

On December 1, several primary schools in Australia and New Zealand received threatening calls falsely alleging explosive devices were installed in schools.

The police have yet to figure out how many schools have received the same number of calls. In Victoria, at least six schools are known to have been affected, including Bourchier Street Primary School, in Shepparton. Black Hill Primary School in Ballarat and a primary school in Gippsland Traralgond town.

According to the head of one of the schools, the man who made the threatening call, with an unknown accent, made the call between 10:30 and 10: 40 a.m.

After repeated police confirmation that there was no danger and parents` consent, the students returned to normal classes around 11:45.

At the same time, a number of schools in New Zealand, South Australia, Queensland, Tasmania, Chiefs and even New Zealand received similar threatening calls.

So far, a group of Russian hackers called "Evacuation Squad" claimed responsibility for the incident. The group has orchestrated threats against Britain, France and the United States.

According to police investigations, most of the calls are pre-recorded sound files, but so far it is not possible to explain why all schools receive calls to broadcast the document at the same time.

A member of a team of hackers who call themselves Viktor Olyavich says there will be more bomb threats in the future. It is not clear what the purpose of this action is, if you have friends in the affected areas, try to be vigilant.
